Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral conscious sedation is an option that we typically recommend for patients who are either undergoing more invasive treatment or experience more moderate dental fear. Before your appointment, we’ll prescribe you a pill that you’ll take. When you arrive to our office, you’ll feel in a more relaxed state since the effects of the medication will already begin to take place. It’s important that you have a trusted friend or family member prepared to both drop you off at and pick you up from your appointment.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide sedation is fast-acting and administered in-office, making it great for patients who experience mild to moderate dental anxiety. We’ll place a small nose mask on you that will allow you to breathe-in a colorless, odorless gas. The effects will take place within a minute or so, and by the time that we’re finished with your treatment and remove the mask, you’ll begin to feel back to your normal self. We’ll just ask you to sit in our waiting area until you feel well enough to drive yourself back home.
